Andhra Pradesh spends 95% of revenue on employees' salary, pension

Andhra Pradesh spent over 95% of its revenue on salaries and pensions in FY26, amounting to ₹1,05,039 crore, according to the State Finance Department Progress Report. The state employs 10-12 lakh people directly and indirectly across public sector undertakings, corporations and secretariats. CM N Chandrababu Naidu said that high HR expenditure has increased the state's fiscal burden.
