Hong Kong is planning to open a convenience store entirely operated by a humanoid robot named Xiao Gai, Hong Kong's Financial Secretary, Paul Chan, said. The store will operate for 24 hours, with the robot being able to assist customers in several languages. The world's first store to be operated by a humanoid was opened in Beijing in August 2025.
