A tea seller named Shivpal Singh received a ₹1.6 lakh electricity bill in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, and passed away of a heart attack. Shivpal was worried and had visited the electricity department multiple times, requesting the officials to get the bill re-checked, but no action was taken. Locals staged a protest after his death in front of the SDO office.
