Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday tabled the 16th Finance Commission report for tax revenue devolution between Centre and States for 2026-2031 in the Lok Sabha. She said the government has accepted the Commission's recommendations, retaining the 41% tax devolution formula. The commission recommended ₹1.4 lakh crore to the states for 2026-27 in the form of finance commission grants.
