India stood alone to oppose Investment Facilitation for Development pact at WTO: Govt

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India "showed the courage to stand alone" in opposing inclusion of the China-led Investment Facilitation for Development (IFD) agreement into WTO framework. The pact risks eroding the functional limits of WTO and undermining its foundational principles, he said. The pact seeks to facilitate foreign direct investment flows among signatory nations, as per WTO.
