Asiatic lions naturally return to Gujarat's Barda after 143 years

Gujarat's administration redrew its forest map to strengthen forest protection and improve field-level monitoring after Asiatic lions naturally returned to Barda after 143 years. The administration restructured Porbandar Forest Division and deployed two assistant conservators of forests to oversee the landscape. The division will have seven ranges covering 6,840.8 hectares and 80 villages.
