IPS Officer arrested for seeking ₹3 cr to 'save accused' in CBI's fake drug racket case

CBI has arrested IPS officer Deepak Gahlawat in connection with the Puducherry ₹5,000-crore counterfeit medicine racket. Investigators alleged that Gahlawat demanded ₹3 crore from the main accused by claiming he could arrange relief in CBI cases through internal contacts and had already received ₹1 crore. Earlier, the CBI had arrested a Delhi Police inspector and six others in the case.
