A US team used two teleoperated robots to complete two surgeries for the first time during a preclinical trial on non-primates. A human-robot team performed gallbladder removal while two humanoid robots carried out the second surgery. Unlike specialised robotic surgery systems, humanoid robots can perform a wide range of procedures and can be easily deployed in remote and challenging areas.
