SP leader RK Chaudhary claimed that burning of dead bodies also causes air pollution as it releases carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. He cited burning of wood during 'Holika Dahan' as source of pollution. "India isn't serious about air pollution...This is not about religion but environment," he said. In response, BJP's Giriraj Singh asked Chaudhary to convert to another religion.
