The Punjab government has prohibited the sale of meat, tobacco, alcohol, and other intoxicants in Amritsar’s Walled City, Talwandi Sabo, and Sri Anandpur Sahib after declaring them "holy cities". A resolution was unanimously passed last month declaring them "holy cities" during a special session of Punjab Assembly in Sri Anandpur Sahib to mark 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
