Dr Aditi Sharma, an internal medicine doctor, listed five foods that help in reducing bad cholesterol (LDL). These include oats or daliya, isabgol (psyllium husk), nuts (almonds and walnuts), fibre-rich vegetables (ladyfinger, bottle gourd, brinjal, carrot, spinach) and green or black tea (without excess sugar). "Food helps, but it doesn't replace medicines if your LDL is already high," she said.
