Researchers found that AI assistants can access more information than needed to complete a task, even when users have not specifically asked for it. The behaviour, called "proactive over-authorisation", can lead AI agents to pull in extra files or background information. Researchers said the behaviour is systematic, raising privacy concerns when AI assistants are given access to sensitive data.
