PM Modi gifts Russian translation of Thirukkural to Putin ahead of BRICS summit

PM Narendra Modi gifted Russian President Vladimir Putin a Russian translation of the ancient Tamil classic Thirukkural during their meeting on the sidelines of BRICS Summit. The 2026 edition, published by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, contains the original Tamil verses, transliteration and Russian translation. The book highlights the long connection between Thirukkural and Russia.
