NASA starts plume-surface tests for upcoming Moon missions

In order to investigate how landing engines disturb lunar soil, NASA has started conducting plume-surface tests in a massive vacuum chamber. The trials mimic Artemis' crewed landing to analyse dangerous dust behaviour beneath landing engines. The trials aim to safeguard astronauts, landers, and instruments to ensure safer, more stable touchdowns during upcoming crewed Moon missions.
