World’s largest crude oil exporter Saudi Arabia shuts key oil pipeline after attacks from Iraq
The world’s largest crude oil exporter, Saudi Arabia, has temporarily shut its crucial 1,200-km East-West oil pipeline after multiple drone attacks from Iraq. The pipeline, which helps bypass the Strait of Hormuz, had been carrying about 4–5 million barrels of oil daily. The attacks came as Iran-aligned Houthis tightened control around the Red Sea, pushing global oil prices higher.
