Ex-CJI Chandrachud was too deferential to govt, sought nod for appointments: Ex-judge Kaul
Former Supreme Court judge Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, in his forthcoming memoir, has criticised ex-CJI DY Chandrachud for being "too deferential to the government" on judicial appointments. "The government has far more respect for judges with a spine," he says, alleging that Chandrachud sought government's "pre-approval" or "nod" before Collegium deliberations. Chandrachud's term ended in 2024.
