The Centre is in talks with four states to reduce value added tax (VAT) on aviation turbine fuel (ATF), CNBC Awaaz reported. The government has held separate meetings with Delhi, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra governments, the report added. This comes as ATF prices for domestic airlines rose 8.5% in April due to a rise in global crude prices.
