23 more taluks hit by drought in Karnataka, tally rises to 124

Karnataka government has declared 23 more taluks drought-affected, taking the total number of drought-hit taluks notified so far to 124. The government issued the order based on ground-truthing and a comprehensive assessment by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre. Of the 23, 21 are severely drought-affected, including Tiptur in Tumakuru district and Karatagi in Koppal.
