Perplexity sued by Swiss startup for stealing AI assistant technology

Swiss startup DaVoice has sued Perplexity in California federal court, accusing it of stealing trade secrets linked to its "wake word" technology for AI assistants. The lawsuit alleges Perplexity used DaVoice's source code, technical systems, training methods and data after the firms collaborated. Perplexity called the lawsuit baseless, saying their agreement allowed developing competing products.
