Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on Monday, with both leaders paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Both the leaders were seen taking a tour of the Sabarmati Ashram and also attended the International Kite Festival 2026 at the Sabarmati Riverfront. Chancellor Merz is on his first official visit to India.
