Classical music professor Mangala Kapoor, who survived an acid attack as a child will be conferred with the Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian classical music. Kapoor founded the Professor Mangala Kapoor Foundation to provide free education for the needy and build confidence among specially abled children. She has also authored five books on music and thought PHD scholars.
