A mechanical failure triggered the crane collapse at a Mumbai metro site in BKC, MMRDA said. Director Basavaraj MB stated that a gear failure in one crane caused the load to shift, overturning another and bringing down the girder. No casualties were reported, though some workers were injured. The accident also led to major traffic disruptions in the area.
