Jarange heads to Mumbai for Maratha quota protest despite permission refusal

Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange, on hunger strike for 17 days, left Jalna for Mumbai on Tuesday despite Mumbai Police denying permission citing Ganesh festival. He cited a Bombay HC ruling allowing democratic protests. Jarange, travelling with 5-10 associates, will reach Azad Maidan on September 19 via Pune and Raigad.
