Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw criticised condition of NH44 Hosur Road in Bengaluru and called it "shoddily designed". Responding to Shaw's remark, NHAI said the stretch was completed in 2010 and "handles very high traffic volumes with over 1 lakh daily commuters, adding to operational and maintenance challenges". Shaw then asked officials to conduct an on-ground inspection of road.
