Some companies using Anthropic and OpenAI products were overcharged by an estimated $1.7 million (about ₹16 crore) due to billing errors, The Information reported. An audit by Vaudit of invoices from 60 companies found that most issues involved Claude Code. The report said repeated AI retries on failed tasks may have caused customers to incur unexpected charges.
