Panvel civic body urges cracker-free Diwali

The Panvel Municipal Corporation has appealed to residents to celebrate an eco-friendly, cracker-free Diwali under the state's Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 7.0. Commissioner Mangesh Chitale warned that firecrackers release toxic gases, harming human health, plants, and animals. The civic body urged people to avoid firecrackers or opt for noise-free, light-emitting ones to reduce air and noise pollution.
