Scientists detect 161 new black hole collision events

Scientists at the University of Glasgow have identified 161 new black hole collisions, suggesting that some black holes were formed through earlier black hole mergers. The study also found evidence of second-generation black holes and made the first-ever measurement of three vibrational modes from a black hole. The total number of confirmed gravitational wave detections has now reached 390.
