Savita Punia becomes India’s most-capped women’s hockey player

Goalkeeper Savita Punia became the most-capped Indian women’s hockey player in history with 321 senior international caps, surpassing former India player Vandana Katariya’s record of 320 appearances. Punia reached the milestone during India’s Pool B match against Indonesia at the Asian Games 2026. Deep Grace Ekka and Rani Rampal are third and fourth with 268 and 254 appearances, respectively.
