Vodafone Idea (Vi) said it has been in active talks with Samsung for past 12-18 months to expand its existing 4G networks and introduce 5G. Vi said it conducted network trials in Chennai, Karnataka and Bihar. Vi shares rose 7.38% on Wednesday from its previous close to hit ₹18.47, highest level seen in five years.
