Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India and the European Union are expected to sign a free trade agreement by December, with the deal set to come into effect by February or March. Negotiations on the agreement concluded on January 27. Speaking about the deal, Goyal said, "With almost zero duty, almost the entire European market will be open to us."
