Bird strikes at Delhi airport rise 3.5x in 2025 and 2026: Report

Bird-strike incidents around Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) increased about 3.5 times in 2025 and 2026 compared with previous years, IE reported. It said the rise was linked to multiple waste-dumping sites, illegal meat shops and bird-feeding spots around the airport. It also flagged stagnant sewage water and waste dumped into water bodies by unauthorised colonies.
