Bankim Chandra's descendant seeks Sonia Gandhi's apology over Vande Mataram row

'Vande Mataram' writer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's descendant and BJP MLA Sumitro Chatterjee sought an apology from Congress' Sonia Gandhi amid allegations that she asked to stop the full rendition of the National Song. He said the incident was a "shameless repetition of a historical mistake". Congress denied the allegations, saying Sonia was trying to ensure a chair for Mallikarjun Kharge.
