According to data presented in Lok Sabha in February 2026, over 8,600 complaints were filed against sitting judges between 2016-2025. The maximum number of complaints was filed in 2024, with 1,170 complaints against the judiciary, followed by 1,102 complaints in 2025, 1,037 complaints in 2019, and 1,012 complaints in 2022. The fewest complaints were in 2020 – 518 were filed.
