General Sherman, a giant sequoia in California’s Sequoia National Park, is the world’s largest known tree by volume and is believed to be around 2,200 years old. According to the US National Park Service, it has an estimated volume of 52,500 cubic feet and its trunk alone weighs nearly 1,400 tons, roughly equivalent to 15 adult blue whales.
