Govt notifies Semicon 2.0 scheme with ₹1.27 lakh crore outlay

The government has notified the Semicon 2.0 scheme with an outlay of ₹1.27 lakh crore to boost the domestic chip ecosystem. Approved on July 15, the initiative provides 40% fiscal support for silicon fabs and 35% for other fabs, including compound, display and specialised fabs. It also offers grants, equity co-investment and royalty financing to eligible startups and companies.
