A video has surfaced online showing red flashes lighting up the sky in Tibet. The phenomenon, known as red sprites, occurs high in the atmosphere and can take several shapes, including jellyfish-like structures. Scientists said that they are triggered when powerful lightning discharges below create strong electrical fields in the upper atmosphere, causing nitrogen molecules to emit a red glow.
