Centre to send teams to assess drought in Karnataka, Maharashtra

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced Centre will send assessment teams to Karnataka and Maharashtra on October 3 amid drought concerns. Maharashtra has declared drought in two-thirds of the state. States have been asked to prepare a 'water budget' and prioritise less water-intensive crops like pulses for the upcoming Rabi season.
