Punjab govt calls employees' strike over DA due since 2023 'illegal', warns of action

Punjab minister Aman Arora called the one-day mass casual leave by secretarial staff over pending DA and arrears on Tuesday "illegal" and warned of action. Arora further added that the government had addressed part of the demand by raising DA for 85,000 employees from 42% to 60%. Unions claim six instalments of DA since January 2023 have not been released.
