Sanju Samson had ideated the controversial Ravindra Jadeja-Yuzvendra Chahal concussion substitute in a T20I against Australia in Canberra in 2020. Samson suggested then fielding coach R Sridhar that a bowler can replace Jadeja as he was hit on the helmet. Sridhar asked him to tell Ravi Shastri, who liked his idea. Chahal took three wickets in that match.
