Fourteen men were sentenced to life imprisonment by an MP court for lynching Nazir Ahmad over alleged cattle smuggling in August 2022. The incident took place on August 3, 2022 when a group of people intercepted a truck carrying cattle illegally near Barakhad village. The group assaulted three people onboard the vehicle. Two injured people had survived.
