The US has formalised plans to deploy a nuclear reactor on the Moon by 2030, with NASA and the Department of Energy signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The reactor will provide continuous power for long lunar missions, regardless of sunlight or temperature. The move comes amid similar lunar nuclear plans announced by China and Russia.
