The Kessler Syndrome describes a situation where space debris in Earth's orbit leads to a chain reaction of collisions, creating even more debris. This cycle could severely disrupt satellites and space missions. The concept was introduced by NASA scientist Donald Kessler in 1978, warning that if changes aren't made in how debris is managed, space activities could become increasingly hazardous.
