Newly discovered starless cloud could be a 'dark galaxy': Study
Astronomers using China's FAST radio telescope have discovered an isolated hydrogen cloud with no visible stars or galaxy, making it a strong candidate for a "dark galaxy". Named J1351+0039, the cloud contains nearly 5,00,000 times the Sun's mass in neutral hydrogen. Its gas rotates at only about 4.2 km/s, while its random motions are about 11.6 km/s.
