Astrobotic sets record for 300-sec hot-firing Chakram rocket engine test

Astrobotic Technology, a space logistics company, has successfully conducted hot-fire test of its Chakram rotating detonation rocket engine (RDRE) at NASA. Two prototypes completed eight tests with over 470 seconds of total run time without damage. This included a 300-second continuous burn, believed to be a record for engine duration. This could power future spacecraft for missions to the Moon.
