B12 intake during pregnancy helps infant brain development: Study

A new study has found that Vitamin B12 supplementation during pregnancy in vegetarian women can benefit early brain development in their infants. Vitamin B12 deficiency is common in vegetarian populations and has been linked to delayed infant neurodevelopment and adverse pregnancy outcomes, the study said. Many women enter pregnancy with an unrecognised B12 deficiency, a researcher noted.
