Palam Kalyanasundaram, who worked as a librarian at an arts college in Tamil Nadu, donated his entire salary every month for 35 years to charities supporting poor children and orphans. Kalyanasundaram worked odd jobs in hotels and laundries to meet his own basic needs. Upon retiring, he donated his entire pension of ₹10 lakh and his ancestral property.
