Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the US' plans to bring regime change in Iran and Venezuela were aimed at gaining control over its oil and gas resources. He said that US and Israel don't support normalisation between Iran and its neighbours. Lavrov further warned that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East could escalate into a wider war.
