Railways fined for mental harassment after 2 RAC passengers made to share blanket

A Delhi consumer commission has fined Indian Railways ₹25,000 for failing to provide separate blankets to two unrelated passengers travelling on RAC tickets. One of the passengers had filed a complaint, alleging mental harassment and physical inconvenience. According to a 2009 government circular, a blanket and bedsheet may be given to RAC passengers as bedroll charges are included in fare.
