US President Donald Trump has said he will speak with Taiwan President Lai Ching-te about a possible arms deal. US and Taiwan leaders have not spoken directly since 1979, after US recognised the Beijing government. "I'll speak to him...I speak to everybody. We'll work on the Taiwan problem," Trump told reporters on being asked about the potential arms deal.
