A reported strike by Iran-backed Houthi forces on Saudi Arabia’s East-West crude oil pipeline could impact global oil flows, as it is an escape route for oil shipments. The 1,200-km pipeline allows Saudi Arabia to move crude toward the Red Sea without sending it through Hormuz. Strike could lead to an increase in crude prices and escalate the Iran war.
